Orange Hat-Trick Challenge

The Orange Hat-Trick Challenge was Steve Cunningham's bid to become the first blind person to fly a plane around the UK. Steve Cunningham has held the World Blind Land Speed Record and became the fastest blind person on water in the World Offshore Powerboat Challenge.

Orange supported Steve's attempt to complete his hat-trick of challenges, a five-day round tour of the UK by air from 12 to 16 July 2004. He became the first blind person to fly around the UK in a light aircraft.

The Hat-Trick Challenge was part of Orange community futures, a programme aimed at enabling people to participate more fully in society. The challenge is raising funds for our joint charity partners, Royal National Institute of the Blind and the British Deaf Association.
