Include

We don´t want anyone to miss out. That´s why we take care to make sure everyone can afford, use and understand our products and services - whatever their age, income or abilities.

So we´re making our products and services easier to access and use, so everyone can take advantage of the digital world. Here are just a few examples.

easy to use

We offer our customers a phone that´s easier to hold, use and read. It´s specially designed for elderly customers and for people with disabilities. We also have information in all our shops and online about which of our mobiles are best for people with different disabilities.

easy to read

From phone manuals to bills, we offer Braille, audio and large font versions of a range of different documents for the blind or visually impaired.

easy to text

We have a range of tariffs that offer great value on texts to enable the deaf or hard of hearing to get the most out of the services they can use.

easy to afford

Our pay monthly tariffs start at just £5 a month, so people living on low incomes can afford them too. And, of course, we have a range of pay as you go tariffs that enable people to easily manage their phone use.

TACT team

To help us with these schemes, we´ve set up The Accessible Communications Team (TACT). The group is made up of some of our customers and employees with disabilities, and charities like Leonard Cheshire, RNIB and Sense. Twice a year, this group meets to look for ways to make Orange more accessible, and it then works with our customer team to make the right changes.

We´ve also got a web area dedicated to ‘access for all’. Find out more about our products and services that are especially good for people with disabilities here.

Leonard Cheshire Disability

We always enjoy finding new and creative ways to get involved with our charity partners. Leonard Cheshire Disability has an initiative called ‘Ability Media ’, which gives disadvantaged people the skills and practical knowledge they need to express themselves through digital media.

In early 2010, we worked with Leonard Cheshire Disability on a film that´s already helping our employees understand our customers with disabilities better. The film is a series of talking heads, with some of our own employees and customers sharing personal stories about how we can deliver brilliant service to all our customers, independent of any disability.

You can see the film for yourself here. We´ve designed a campaign and training programme to go along with the video, to make sure all of our customer-facing employees get to see it.
